FIVE FOR FRIDAY Jan. 24th
Five for Friday 1/24/2020
Here are Five of the many amazing things that happened this week at Page:
5. Un-BEE-lievable - Okay I'm cheating this one was from last week, but the Spelling Bee was fantastic. Thank you to all the teacher and staff support. Congratulations to our Champion Emersyn, and our 1st runner up Exley. They'll both compete next at Regionals on February 25th.
4. In the Swing of Things - Our students are wrapping up a unit on volleyball in PE. Mrs. Cross did a fantastic job building the basic skills, and this week students have put it all together in actual games during PE class.
3. She Blinded Me with Science - Our students in several 4th grade classes have been learning about electricity. I got to jump into a hands on lesson that involved students learning about completing the circuit to get a battery to power a small light bulb! (We totally NAILED IT!)
2. Staying In-Touch - Thanks to a TAEF grant Mrs. Formsma has been piloting a CleverTouch 65" Interactive Touch Screen Monitor in her class. It is really cool and something we will have to continue to evaluate to see if we want to consider expanding this type of tech in the building.
1. YogaMath - I was able to see a really cool, active review in Mrs. Dow's class. She had her students review geometric terms using various Yoga poses to represent the term. It was neat to see things like line, ray, segment etc. represented kinetically to help it stick in students' minds.
