 Five For Friday - First Week of School “Thank You” Edition

Getting to be back with kids, face to face, for the first time in over 170 days has been fantastic. As such, I can’t help but express gratitude for getting to work in-person with students again. So at the end of our first week, here are five of the many things I am grateful for:

5. Our Superintendent and School Board - I’m thankful that our upper echelon administration came up with a return to learn plan that allowed us to be face to face with students, while creating a virtual option for families that prefer remote.

4. Our Other Administrators - Navigating opening face to face has presented some unique challenges. Planning for them and adjusting to them has been possible due to the collaboration with the other leaders in this district.

3. Our Families - Our families have been doing an excellent job handling all the adjustments we have made to meet the requirements to reopen in the time of COVID-19. We are so grateful for all their help and support making in-person instruction possible.

2. Our Staff - ACROSS THE BOARD Transportation, Grounds and Maintenance, Custodial, Support Staff and Teachers have been PHENOMENAL. This isn’t easy, but it is worth it. What an adjustment the staff has made to meet the needs of our students while also meeting the requirements to keep everyone safe. It looks different but by their colossal effort, love of kids and sheer will of personality, they’re exceeding all expectations! They epitomize what it means to be TK Strong

1. Our Students - I can’t say it enough. It has been so AWESOME to get to see our Page students. It can be cliche to talk about how resilient kids can be, but wow, just wow. It has been wonderful to see how well they have adjusted to being back and how great they have been about being safe, respectful and responsible.
