FIVE for Friday 9/18

Here are just 5 of the amazing things that happened here at Page this week!!!!

5. Hanging Around - The other day while I was inspecting our playground equipment for a hornets nest, I got to talk to our grounds and maintenance crew. They called my attention to some portions of our swings that are in need of replacement parts. Our Page PTO is looking into helping us with this. That’s why events like the Walk-a-thon/Scavenger hunt are just as important now as ever!

4. A Place of Value--I saw several 4th grade classes utilize the outdoors and kinesthetic learning in teaching math. Students lined up to demonstrate how place value works with numbers.

3. Spaaahkle time - I watched Ms. Corey’s class play a cool game to learn their spelling words. The kids got a kick out of me trying to say “sparkle” with my accent.

2. Over the Hills and Far Away -
Our teachers have been doing an outstanding job balancing their use of traditional instructional strategies with integrating Google Classroom so that should we ever need to go remote our students will be pros with well established learning routines.

1. Feeding the Flock - Big time shout out to our kitchen staff. With the federal government making lunch free to all students they have done an impressive job handling the increased volume. It is great to have a staff across the board that is all about caring for kids!

Bonus shout out to our behavioral interventionist Mr. Holmes who swished a game winning half court shot at the end of recess today!
