Five for Friday 10/23

HERE ARE 5 HIGHLIGHTS FROM ANOTHER AMAZING WEEK...

5. "A Picture is Worth..." Picture day went incredibly well! Grateful for everyone's help making it go so smoothly.

4. Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls - Just a shout out for how well you all handled the water damage from the construction leaks. Mrs. Potter and Mrs. Keizer were incredibly flexible in moving their rooms. Interventions were great about shifting their location, and the rest of the staff was incredibly accommodating. THANKFUL FOR EVERYONE'S EFFORTS!

3. SOCK It To Me - Our Student Council has launched into action. They will be running a SOCKtober sock drive. Students can bring donations into their class now through Nov. 6th. BONUS - I got to fill in for Mrs. Sikkema while she met with StuCo reps. It's always fun to jump back in the classroom.

2. Chalk it Up to Science -
Our 4th grade classes have been doing a really cool experiment with chalk. It's all about discovering how landforms and the Earth change overtime. They even use it to discuss and understand how potholes are formed. What an amazing way to make connections to something incredibly relevant here in Michigan.

1. They're Poets and Now You Know It - Several of our classrooms have been decorating bags for Kids' Food Basket. One of our local banks, TFC, is donating 10¢ for every bag donated. Several 5th grade classes as well as several 4th grade classes collaborating on this great project to give back to the community. One class in particular used some newly acquired poetry skills when decorating theirs! All totaled Page 4th and 5th graders decorated 274 bags!!!!
