FIVE FOR FRIDAY Jan. 24th

Five for Friday 1/24/2020 Here are Five of the many amazing things that happened this week at Page: 5. Un-BEE-lievable - Okay I'm cheating this one was from last week, but the Spelling Bee was fantastic. Thank you to all the teacher and staff support. Congratulations to our Champion Emersyn, and our 1st runner up Exley. They'll both compete next at Regionals on February 25th. 4. In the Swing of Things - Our students are wrapping up a unit on volleyball in PE. Mrs. Cross did a fantastic job building the basic skills, and this week students have put it all together in actual games during PE class. 3. She Blinded Me with Science - Our students in several 4th grade classes have been learning about electricity. I got to jump into a hands on lesson that involved students learning about completing the circuit to get a battery to power a small light bulb! (We totally NAILED IT!) 2. Four For Friday - Back from Break!

4. True Success - I was able to spend some time in Stacy Sikkema's class this week and watch her masterfully use the "True Success" curriculum that we have access to use and pilot the remainder of the year. The days lesson was on developing GRIT a nice theme to start on at the beginning of a new semester! 3. 40 Ways To Promote Great Readers -  I was able to have a fantastic conversation with Teresa Michalski about a cool thing her class is doing. They've been working on a "40 Book Challenge." Love the opportunity for them to have voice and choice over what they read while still having some parameters and accountability! 2. Smitten with the Mitten - Diane Knight entered a cool contests to make table tents that would be displayed at this year's Iditarod.
